History of Georgette Fabric

Georgette was initial known as Crepe Fabric it renamed in Early after 20th century. Georgette is originally made from silk, it is made with highly twisted yarns. It has very kinky surface. 1. Pure Georgette Saree: Pure Georgette is basically heavy fabric with a bit soft roughness on it. Pure georgette is most expensive one. This kind of georgette is basically used for heavy sarees where heavy work or embroidery needed. As its bit heavy, it can hold the work easily. Generally sarees for wedding wear or bridal wear are made from this fabric.


2. Silk Georgette Saree: Silk Georgette is basically a combination of silk with any other yarn like polyester, cotton etc. It gives the traditional look with the comfort of Georgette and shine of silk fabric.

3. Jacquard Georgette Saree: Jacquard georgette is kind of fabric which has intricately woven pattern of georgette. Jacquard Georgette saree mostly have heavy borders on it as jacquard itself has patterns which gives stunning look for any party. 


4. Faux Georgette Saree: Sarees from Faux georgette are mostly used by women It is even knows as artificial georgette. It has polyester weaving and it is much cheaper than pure georgette. It has hard roughness compared to pure georgette. Faux georgette sarees are ideal for summers.


5.Smoke Georgette Saree: Georgette saree which has smoky or shimmer effect are basically known as smoke georgette saree. It gives shiny look.


6. Printed Georgette Saree: When it comes to printed saree, Georgette is the first option of all the women. Georgette sarees all available in all kind of prints like floral, digital, polka dots, abstract prints, animal prints and many more. Printed Georgette sarees are one of the best option for summers and for casual wears.


7. Embroidered Georgette Saree: Mostly women prefer heavy worked and embroidered sarees for weddings and parties. Georgette fabric is heavy fabric which can easily hold any kind of work on it.
